# Share PCFs and manage access

> Choose public or restricted access and share a PCF with a requesting organization.

Each company PCF has its own access setting. Restricted access can only be shared in response to a request from the receiving organization. You cannot grant unsolicited access by searching for a company.

| Access | Who can use the PCF |
| - | - |
| Restricted | Organizations whose PCF request you have answered with a shared PCF. |
| Public | Other organizations through the public PCF library. |

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Manage access">
    In **Company PCFs**, open the PCF's actions and select **Manage access**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Share through a customer request">
    Open **PCF Requests → Received** and review the customer's request. Select **Share PCF**, choose the appropriate company PCF, and submit the response. The PCF is shared only with the organization that sent that request.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review existing access">
    The **With access** list shows organizations with restricted access. Scroll the list when it contains more organizations. Use the three-dot menu at the right of an organization's card to remove access when appropriate.

  </Step>
</Steps>

You can also use **Make public** or **Make restricted** from the PCF's actions. These actions change who can use the PCF, so check the intended audience first.

**Manage access** lets you review or remove existing access; it cannot add an organization. If a customer has not requested a restricted PCF, ask them to [send a PCF request](/user-guides/supplier-engagement/request-a-pcf) first. See [Respond to PCF requests](/user-guides/supplier-engagement/respond-to-requests).

Public PCFs remain available through the public library. Making a PCF public does not send it to a specific organization or add it to that organization's supplier inventory.

<Note>
  Sharing a PCF does not share your purchases, BOM inputs, accounting records, or supporting documents. Report source snapshots remain within the organization that owns that source data.
</Note>

Removing access to a restricted PCF can affect a customer's live calculations. Purchases with a saved database estimate can fall back to that estimate. Previously captured report values remain fixed.
