# Record operational waste

> Select a waste and disposal type, enter its quantity, and attach evidence.

Open **Scope 3 → Operational waste** for waste from your organization's operations. Waste quantities are reported here, separately from Product inventory.

  <Step title="Name the activity">
    Click **Add waste**. Enter **Activity name**, such as “Workshop metal recycling”.

  <Step title="Select the waste type">
    Open **Waste type**. Search for the material and disposal route, and use the available filters to narrow the list. Choose the option supported by your waste record.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter the quantity">
    Enter a positive **Quantity** and select **Quantity unit**. Available units match the factor; compatible mass units are converted automatically.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Attach evidence and save">
    Upload a disposal receipt, collection statement, or another supporting record, or tick it from the pool. Click **Add waste** and review the saved row.

## Review a waste entry

Use the row arrow for details, the **Docs** count for documents, and **⋮** to edit, duplicate, or delete. Search and filters help separate waste materials or reporting dates.

Select the waste material and treatment shown on your disposal record. If you do not know how the waste was treated, check the collection or disposal evidence before choosing a waste type.

Waste entries describe waste emissions. If product quantities were disposed of during the year, include them in your annual quantity review in [Product inventory](/user-guides/inventory/reconcile-stock).
