Live workspace
The accounting data you are currently editing.
Saved version
Read-only accounting inputs for a numbered version. Calculated values can still change when upstream PCF values change.
Snapshot
The version’s calculated values and report sources at the time you save the snapshot.
1
Lock the year
Open Accounting year actions and select Lock for the current year. Locking prevents accounting edits while you finish reviewing the data.
Lock the year before saving a version or starting the next year.
2
Save a version
While the year is locked, select Save version and confirm the dialog. This creates a saved, read-only version. Use Unlock when you need to continue editing.
3
Open a saved version
Select View past versions, then choose a version. The workspace shows Read-only accounting. Use Return to Live workspace to resume work.
4
Freeze values for a report
Use Save snapshot of V… in the year menu, or Save snapshot while viewing a saved version. A snapshot receives a report ID and captures the upstream sources currently used.
An organization-based PCF must reference a saved accounting version. A draft estimate or snapshot cannot replace that source version. To start another reporting period, lock the current year and select Start next year. Use View past years to return to an earlier year. For captured upstream organization and BOM records, see Report snapshots and historical records.
